Hammett Bowen, Jr. Elementary School is the prototype for a series of schools to be constructed in Marion County, Florida. With a student station capacity of 850 and a 2 story/92,000 square foot plan, this school has the highest design population for its size in the county. Clad in brick and with low slope roof system, the structure is heated and cooled by component systems avoiding the need for central refrigeration, piping and distribution. The school design incorporates all features of Florida’s S.M.A.R.T. School program and reflects teaching and administration needs for security, student movement and display.
